Testimonials

My car has quite a lot of superficial damage so it has been hard to get any interest but cars for cash were great and bought it straight away.

Frequently asked questions

Can I still sell you my car without a V5 registration document?

Unfortunately if you don’t have a V5 we can’t buy the car but if you don't have a V5 it’s not that much hassle to get one. All you have to do is apply for a new one by completing a V62 online at www.direct.gov.uk or pick one up at the post office and do it that way instead. It must be registered in your name and at your address.

If my car has no MOT are you still interested in it?

Yes. We don't need your car to be in fantastic condition for it to be an attractive prospect for us. We buy a lot of different cars in different states of repair. If your car has no MOT we are still keen to take a look, we buy lots of old cars that end up in this state and if it requires work, we can take this into account in our valuation.

My car is Left Hand Drive, is this of any interest to you?

Yes, absolutely. Get in touch and we can give you a quotation.

Do you take imported cars?

We do, you just have to remember - the valuation system is slightly different for imports than for the equivalent non-import but we're happy to go through this with you.

I want to sell my car but it has lots of problems including a broken timing belt and a gearbox that is virtually useless. Is there any point in contacting you?

Yes don’t let that stop you!  Even if the car looks to be on its last legs we are still interested in taking a look it might be worth more than you think! Give us a call to find out.

Would you still want to buy my car even if the bodywork is damaged?

Yes, damaged bodywork is pretty common in most cars, especially a lot of the old or used cars we buy so we are used to dealing with this.

I’ve been offered more money by a car dealer to part exchange my car. Can I do this with you?

No, we are not keen on this as we like to keep things simple - we just offer cash for your car so you’ll always know what you’re getting and nothing is hidden or disguised. If you do go ahead with a part exchange, do look out for a large margin
in the car you're looking to buy - the dealer can make you feel like you're getting good value for money by offsetting some of this against the valuation of your part exchange.

I’ve been offered £2,000 part exchange allowance for my used car against a new vehicle with the Government's scrappage scheme. Should I do it?

These are sometimes not as great as they first appear, particularly as there is an immediate loss involved in buying a brand new car, which can make the offer much less attractive when you look at the detail. You might also find that that some carmakers have increased their prices to balance out the discount so you may not be getting that much of a good deal. Check out our prices, you might find that its equivalent or better to the discount you’d get on a new car!

I still have outstanding finance attached to my car so presumably I can't sell it?

This isn’t a problem. If you want to sell us the financed car, you can either contact your finance company to settle your account yourself.  If you’d like to do this then all we need is written confirmation from your finance company that they have received full cleared payment. If you’d like us to deal with things, you can contact the company and ask them for a settlement figure to pass onto us and then we'll do the rest - data protection laws require you to obtain the settlement figure yourself or we would do it for you! We need the settlement figure as a written statement from the finance company. All we do is deduct this amount from the valuation of your car and pay the company on your behalf.

Please note - if you owe the finance company more than the sale price of your car we will need you to pay the balance of the excess before we come and collect the car.

How will you value the car, is your process made public?

Yes, of course! We use a system that we have developed over the 20 years we have been in the business. We use up to date info for pricing and valuation  -  guides and auction prices -  to make sure our valuations are spot on. We combine this with all that experience we've gained and so far our customer feedback indicates we're doing pretty well.

How long does it take for you to transfer the money?

We'll aim to have it with you within 24 hours as we know that this is the most important part of the process for you! We can make the payment however you want - cash, cheque, transfer.
